President Joe Biden meet with the Griner families
President Joe Biden on Friday will personally meet with the families of Brittney Griner and Paul Whelan at the White House, his press secretary said.
He will be meeting them for the first time in person at this time.
Biden will meet with Cherelle Griner, the wife of Griner, and Elizabeth Whelan, the sister of Whelan, to reassure them that his administration is committed to achieving their loved ones' release and that they are still "top of mind," according to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

Something that the President needed to clarify, and one reason he's gathering with the families, is that he needed to tell them that they stay in front of the psyche and that his group is chipping away at this consistently, on ensuring that Brittney and Paul get back securely, Jean-Pierre said at the White House.
